August 2018: We're excited to unveil our new look bar which is now the perfect setting to start your evening of great music with us. Come early, grab a table and relax with friends with our fantastic new drinks offering.
We serve a wide range of local craft beers and ciders, fine wines, premium Scottish spirits and soft drinks and currently have Williams Brothers Craft Lager, Joker IPA and Thistly Cross Cider on tap. We have a rotating list of guest beers in bottles and cans from the very best Scottish breweries and our updated wine list offers some exciting gems not found elsewhere.
The Bar opens approximately one hour before shows start or at doors open time if this is different.
You will usually be able to take your drink into the auditorium with you and our staff will put this into a plastic glass so you can do so. Some concerts will have a no drinks policy, but there is always water available in the auditorium for your comfort. Please ask an Usher if you require this or help yourself from the jugs provided.
You will be able to order interval drinks at certain events before you go into the start of the show; ask when ordering if this is possible.
There is a mezzanine level upstairs in the Bar called the Hope Scott Room. This is often a quieter space to sit if you're looking for a table and chairs. This will be closed at some events for private receptions. Unfortunately this space is not wheelchair accessible at present.
Only drinks purchased in The Queen's Hall bar can be consumed on the premises. This is a condition of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005. By law, any drinks brought into the building will be removed by our staff.
We have crisps and nuts to complement your drink and Luca's ice cream to cool you down, but if you're looking for something more substantial there are many restaurants, cafes and pubs along Clerk Street serving light bites and sit-down meals from a large variety of cuisines.
The Urban Fox on Causewayside, an independently-run local family business, offers a 20% discount on food to anyone with a valid QH ticket for the same night. All of the food is freshly prepared to order and there are lots of vegetarian and vegan options, as well as burgers, Scottish seafood and sharing platters. This offer is subject to table availability, so it's best to book in advance to avoid disappointment. You can do this by calling 0131 662 6766 or by going to opentable.
If you are coming to an event and would like to hire the Hope Scott Room for your own entertaining, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. A canape menu is available on request.
