About Frigg

Frigg has captivated audiences worldwide with their fusion of Nordic folk music and various Western folk styles, a sound that the world music media has coined "nordgrass," referring to the band's bluegrass influences. Their finely tuned ensemble playing, featuring violins, string instruments, and double bass, combined with their sparkling live energy, has left a lasting impression on listeners across the globe. Often, people marvel at the band's ability to leap from Nordic polskas and American roots rhythms to Balkan beats, Celtic nuances, and even classical music realms - all within a single performance, as if multiple bands were sharing the stage. 

About Marvara

Marvara is a high-energy party band with some of the finest musicians from Belgium and the Nordic countries. Belgian bagpipe player Marieke Van Ransbeeck is the composer and artistic leader of the band. On bagpipes, diatonic accordion, bass, percussion and guitar they perform music that reflects Marieke’s experiences and memories from a breathtaking musical journey in Northern Europe.

Marvara has built a wild live reputation at different festivals and venues in Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium and Finland! About Me Lost Me

Me Lost Me delights in experimenting with songwriting, creating a beguiling mix of soaring vocals and atmospheric electronics that playfully push the boundaries of genre. The project of Newcastle-based artist Jayne Dent who takes influence from folk, art pop, noise, ambient and improvised music, her work has been described in The Guardian as "stripping folk back to its bones while letting its future echoes bleed out". With her prolific writing and extensive touring schedule, her unique sound has won much support across the musical spectrum. Dent has notably performed live for BBC Radio 3's After Dark Festival and as part of the 2022 BBC Proms alongside Spell Songs, Royal Northern Sinfonia and the Voices of the Rivers Edge Choir. She received the prestigious Paul Hamlyn Foundation Award for Composers and was 2020-2021 Artist in Residence at Sage Gateshead.

About Malin Lewis

Innovator, award-winning, multi-instrumentalist Malin Lewis melds Scottish West Coast tradition with a newly invented, self-made bagpipe alongside stars Sally Simpson (Fiddle) and Ali Hutton (Guitar). Hair-tingling, philosophical and dance-inducing melodies inspired by European folk traditions, queerness and the universe.
