Young Team’s Got Talent – In Their Own Words

The Super Power Agency proudly presents Young Team’s Got Talent: In Their Own Words, an inspiring showcase of Edinburgh’s brightest young writers. 

With the help of some famous faces, join us as we celebrate the talent, imagination and hard work of these young writers with performances of their stories, poems and plays. 

Expect time-travelling adventures, modern twists on Scottish myths and personal writing about everything from football and friendship, to pets and pizza. These writers will take you on a tour of the places and people they call home and show you why we all need to sit up and take notice of young people’s voices. 

We are thrilled that some of the country’s favourite writers, poets, comedians and presenters have given their time to help showcase the young writers’ work. The line up includes Ayo Adenekan, Chris Brookmyre, Alistair Chisholm, Abi Elphinstone, Keiran Goddard, Hannah Lavery, Ross MacKenzie, Briana Pegado and others! 

This autumn, over 500 students from eight Edinburgh secondary schools will embark on a journey of self-expression and discovery through our creative writing sessions. These workshops for pupils S1 to S4, will ignite their imaginations, sharpen their writing skills and culminate in the publication of their very own anthologies. 

The Super Power Agency is on a mission: to arm Scotland’s youth with the ultimate superpower—the ability to write their own story. Since 2016, we’ve worked with over 5,000 young people, publishing 49 books of their work and proving without doubt that young voices deserve to be heard!
