NYCOS National Boys Choir gives boys aged 10–16, with unchanged and changed voices, a unique opportunity to sing together to the highest standard.
Continually going from strength to strength, NYCOS National Boys Choir enjoys performances all across the UK, from Edinburgh International Festival to BBC Proms in the Park. The choir recorded its first CD in 2013 after a celebrated performance of Tom Cunningham’s The Saga of the Seven Days. In 2018, the choir released an album of commemorative song suite All Those Men Who Marched Away by Ken Johnston and Jim Maxwell.
After searching the land, the most talented young male singers from across Scotland were chosen to form this year’s ensemble. The boys take part in an intensive six-day residential course at Loretto School in Musselburgh, where they receive vocal coaching and musicianship training from highly qualified music staff. The wide-ranging concert repertoire is learned and rehearsed extensively in search of the perfect tone quality and musical character that makes this choir’s performance so thrilling to hear live.
