Well-established for her wild improvisational works with band Dinosaur, Laura Jurd goes from strength to strength as she takes on the role of Miles Davis in this restaging of the album Sketches of Spain with the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra (SNJO).
Forming part of the 'Once Upon a Time in Spain' retrospective at Edinburgh International Film Festival 2019, get whisked away on a romantic adventure. Taking inspiration from folksong, religious music and even a composition for ballet, the arrangements of Miles Davis and Gil Evans take in 5 musical movements through Sketches that will have you dancing in your seat.
