The Edinburgh Highland Reel & Strathspey Society (EHRSS) is pleased to be returning to the Queen's Hall to present another varied programme of traditional Scottish fiddle music.

The concert will feature the orchestra under the baton of well known Scottish fiddle player Yla Steven BEM playing a selection of marches, strathspeys, reels, jigs and hauntingly beautiful slow airs.

In addition, EHRSS welcomes the up and coming Scottish tenor Christopher Haggerty, son of the renowned tenor Dennis Haggerty. Christopher is developing the singing of glorious Scottish songs beautifully in his fathers footsteps.

Our piper, Martin Duncan, will start the concert off in the traditional manner with his expert skill on the bagpipes. This year we will also welcome a choir from the Edinburgh Young Musicians who will delight us with their singing of Scottish songs.

Founded in 1881, EHRSS was the first society of its type, set up to preserve and promote the traditional style of Scottish fiddle playing. Its members are proud to continue the tradition in the 21st century. Throughout the year they perform in various venues around the country. There is always a St. Andrew's Night Concert, several conference, ceilidh and community events as well as their Annual Concert here in the Queen's Hall.
