Amidst the slight chaos of the glittery festive season, Scottish Ensemble’s annual Concerts by Candlelight offer moments of stillness, contemplation, and a beautiful musical adventure.
In the awe-inspiring Greyfriars Kirk, the warm glow of candlelight illuminates vibrant compositions. This year Scottish Ensemble are particularly excited to present a brand-new work by Glasgow-based composer Dave Fennessy, the first instalment of a two-part commission featuring across their 2023-24 season. Alongside Dave’s atmospheric offering, we will hear works by Johan Sebastian Bach, Philip Glass and Caroline Shaw.
