The culmination of this Festival is a two-part concert. The first half has “Highlights” - outstanding performances selected from a range of classes across the Festival. This will include a performance by their Centenary Choir, a massed choir of up to 200 voices directed by Frikki Walker.
After the interval is the final of the Festival’s Concerto Class in which four soloists perform movements from major concertos, accompanied by The Friends of The Festival Orchestra led by Paul Jourdan and conducted by Gordon Bragg.
The preliminary round of the Concerto Class will be held at Stockbridge Parish Church on Friday 31 January and Saturday 1 February. The main Festival will run from Tuesday 3 to Saturday 14 March. All classes are open to the public at no charge.
The full programme is available from late January at Rae Macintosh Musicroom, 41 Shandwick Place, Edinburgh EH2 4RG or during the Festival at the venues themselves (St Cuthbert’s Church, St Mark’s Unitarian Church, St Andrew's and St George's West Church and Stockbridge Parish Church).
