The Georgian Concert Society regrets that, due to the Government advice on minimising the transmission of the Coronavirus, the concert by The Marian Consort scheduled for Saturday 28 March 2020 at St Andrew’s & St George’s West Church will not take place. Ticket holders who bought tickets from The Queen’s Hall can apply to The Queen’s Hall for refunds.

The Society is very aware of the hardship being endured by freelance musicians at this time and would ask ticket holders who feel able not to apply for a refund but to consider it instead a donation to the Society so that we can help the musicians of The Marian Consort.

Ticket holders who wish a refund should apply before Saturday 11 April after which time the unclaimed amount will be considered a donation to the Georgian Concert Society (Scottish Charity Number SC003740).

A devout Catholic, William Byrd provided a comprehensive compendium of music for the Catholic mass, which in the early seventeenth century was still being conducted in clandestine services held in the private houses of the Catholic nobility - here interspersed with music by Tallis, Robert Parsons and Philippe de Monte.

Rory McCleery: Director; Charlotte Ashley, Lucinda Cox: Sopranos; Helen Charlston, Hannah Cooke: Altos; Edward Ross, Benjamin Durrant: Tenors; Michael Craddock, Edmund Saddington: Basses
