The Queen’s Hall presents

Tim Kliphuis Trio

30 March 2018 at 7:30pm

Award-winning violinist Tim Kliphuis and his musicians Nigel Clark (guitar) and Roy Percy (bass) return to The Queens’ Hall after their acclaimed 10th anniversary concert last season. Combining a masterful command of the violin with genre-mashing interpretations of gypsy jazz, folk and classical music, Tim Kliphuis has created a unique style that is making waves in concert halls across the globe. Tonight they bring a wealth of new repertoire: re-interpretations of Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos, gypsy jazz material by Stéphane Grappelli & Django Reinhardt, Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and Nocturne by Gabriel Fauré.

“Superb … a thoughtful, provocative meeting of minds” (Sunday Times)

With a special set from students at The City of Edinburgh Music School - Mia Scott: violin; Freya Ruuskanen: cello; Lucia Pagano: violin; Sean Hughes: saxophone
