John Kitchen, Gerry McDonald & Sally Carr

19 August 2017 at 3:00pm

For His Lordship’s Entertainment: John Kitchen, playing a 1709 harpsichord made by Thomas Barton, and Gerry McDonald on woodwind, join soprano Sally Carr in imaginative recreation of the musical household of James Brydges, Lord Carnarvon.  Their programme of virtuoso cantatas featuring obbligato oboe, recorder and continuo illustrates typical output of Handel and Pepusch, ‘composers in residence’ for the earl’s music consort at Cannons.

PLEASE NOTE: This concert takes place at St Cecilia’s Hall, 220 Cowgate/corner of Niddry Street, Edin EH1 1LG
