Gordon Ferries & Petrea Cooney

12 August 2017 at 3:00pm

Stanzas for Music: Classical guitarist and composer Gordon Ferries plays 19th-century solos by Mauro Giuliani including Le Bouquet Emblematique; Airs Irlondois Nationales; and popular Handel arrangements. In striking modern contrast, soprano Petrea Cooney interprets Gordon's own Stanzas for Music: a song cycle composed to poems by Shelley, Coleridge, Byron and Keats; together with his recent setting of lyrics from Joyce's Chamber Music poetry collection, published 1907.

PLEASE NOTE: This concert takes place at St Cecilia’s Hall, 220 Cowgate/corner of Niddry Street, Edin EH1 1LG
