Música Exaltada
This Belgian quartet of female singers, accompanied on the viola da gamba by Romina Lischka, will perform sacred music by Victoria, de Morales and Guerrero, along with some Christmas settings from the 14th to 16th centuries.
Encantar is a quartet of young female singers from Belgium whose aim is to present the rich, polyphonic repertoire of the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries (mainly written for men) in a contemporary fashion. The result is a unique, refined sound which has won them various awards including the 2011 York Early Music Festival Friends Prize. Música Exaltada will feature the Missa "L'Homme armé" (1540) by Cristóbal de Morales and some beautiful pieces by his contemporaries such as Andreas de Silva, Francisco Guerrero, Tomás Luis de Victoria, along with some Christmas settings from the Renaissance period.
"... clarity of sound, the art of interweaving voices and an atmosphere of serenity. This ensemble strives for such craftsmanship and succeeds" (Leeuwarder Courant)
