ABOUT US / Ticketing Fees

The Queen's Hall Box Office - photo

There are a number of additional charges that may be added to ticket costs such as booking fees and credit/debit card charges. Whilst we try to keep this is as straightforward as possible, sometimes our differing relationships with various suppliers such as credit card companies and box office software suppliers make it more complex than we would like. To try and clear up some of this confusion, we've created a sample transaction below of 3 x £10 tickets that shows all the different combinations and costs:

If you book in person, three £10 tickets would cost:
Cash, Cheque or Gift Voucher = £30 + £4.50 booking fee (3 x £1.50 per ticket) = £34.50
Credit card = £30 + £4.50 booking fee (3 x £1.50 per ticket) + £1.50 credit card fee (3 x 50p per ticket) = £36
Debit card = £30 + £4.50 booking fee (3 x £1.50 per ticket) + 50p debit card fee for the whole transaction = £35

If you book over the telephone, three £10 tickets would cost:
Credit card = £30 + £4.50 booking fee (3 x £1.50 per ticket) + £1.50 credit card fee (3 x 50p per ticket) = £36
Debit card = £30 + £4.50 booking fee (3 x £1.50 per ticket) + 50p debit card fee for the whole transaction = £35

If you book using our website, three £10 tickets would cost:
Credit card = £30 + £4.50 booking fee (3 x £1.50 per ticket) + £1.50 credit card fee (3 x 50p per ticket) = £36*
Debit card = £30 + £4.50 booking fee (3 x £1.50 per ticket) + £1.50 debit card fee (3 x 50p per ticket) = £36*

* The inconsistency in credit and debit card charges when booking online is due to our ticketing system currently being unable to differentiate them as separate payment types. We are working with the software providers to hopefully resolve this is the future.
