Resonate at The Queen's Hall

Resonate is an annual collaboration with The Queen's Hall and the City of Edinburgh Council's Children and Families, Arts and Creative Learning Service.

Now in its fifth year, Resonate 2016's six concerts saw 861 pupils take to The Queen's Hall stage from 54 schools and perform to an audience of 1476 friends, family and supporters. The concerts feature the whole range of the pupils' musical interests including rock, pop, jazz, traditional and classical performances by soloists, groups and orchestras. It is the largest and most successful education project that The Queen's Hall is involved in and has gone from strength to strength since its creation in 2011.

Resonate at The Queen's Hall

"All the pupils get to feel the excitement of performing on the main stage of a major city centre venue. They also benefit from being part of large ensembles with other musicians from across the city. Even being backstage with all their friends is a new and thrilling experience for many and the whole event is also a memorable one for their proud parents, families and friends. Building confidence through public performance is of vital importance to our young people especially if they wish to make a career in music. The Resonate project is a brilliant opportunity for them in this regard"
(Tudor Morris, Director, City of Edinburgh Music School)

"The Arts and Creative Learning team highly values the opportunity given to our young people with the Resonate concerts at The Queen's Hall"
(Lucy Vaughan, City of Edinburgh Council)
